ORTHOPEDIC DENTISTRY AND

ENTAL NYLON DENTURES

Nylon dentures
Orthopedic dentistry ESC in Kiev offers dental nylon prostheses made using unique technology. Such prostheses are durable, flexible and hypoallergenic, without the need for metal, and even at an affordable price.
Nylon dentures are widely used in dentistry. The material from which they are made has a number of undoubted advantages compared to those that have long been used by dentists. It was nylon dentures that dramatically changed the situation in the field of dental prosthetics.

Breakthrough in Dental Orthopedics

Removable nylon prostheses have a positive track record. Many dental laboratories of megacities are actively working with this material. With its help, high-quality prosthetics are carried out in Kiev.
Progress does not stand still, and this direction in dentistry is actively developing, so it is possible that in the near future, nylon prostheses will be improved and endowed with additional advantages over other materials.
Today, various types of prosthetics are used in orthopedic dentistry. Lost teeth can be replaced with implants made of various materials. In addition, dentists can offer several methods of prosthetics. At the same time, a situation occurs quite often when a tooth can be restored only by making a removable denture. For example, this method cannot be dispensed with when there is no support — back teeth. A removable prosthesis is the only way out if implants are contraindicated for the patient. Despite the development of medicine in general and constant progress, some of the problems that arise with prosthetics of removable teeth are still insurmountable.
The main disadvantage is the presence of a foreign body in the oral cavity. In addition, with this method of prosthetics can not do without metal clasps, which can be seen. As a rule, plastic is a part of usual removable dentures. Even when using high-quality materials, monomer isolation — a sufficiently harmful compound that can cause poisoning of the body and serious allergic reactions — cannot be avoided. In some cases, when installing a removable prosthesis, you will have to use neighboring completely healthy teeth that need to be sharpened.
Due to the presence of metal, removable prostheses weigh quite a lot, which can create some discomfort to the patient. The nylon prostheses offered by our clinic are an excellent solution to all the problems listed above.

Indisputable advantages

Nylon was first introduced as a material for the manufacture of denture basics back in 1953. Due to its properties, first of all, flexibility, it had to replace a variety of metal alloys and acrylic combinations, which are quite widespread in the field of prosthetics of removable teeth.
Over the years, this material has been used in more than 90 countries. Since 2001, nylon prostheses have been used in the post-Soviet space. They are much stronger than analogs made of acrylic plastics, absolutely safe for humans and have a fairly high level of elasticity (especially in comparison with chrome-cobalt alloys).
Each patient will certainly have a question: why are nylon prostheses so good? The dentist should be ready to justify the advantages of this material, explain its differences from analogues widely available on the market, and explain the formation of the price of dental prosthetics.

So why are nylon prostheses the best?

This type of denture is metal free. Patients who have encountered removable metal-containing elements will certainly appreciate the absence of a galvanic syndrome — the formation of an electric current in the oral cavity. Galvanism is fraught not only with the appearance of a metallic taste in the mouth, but also with headaches, general weakness, dryness of the oral mucosa.
Nylon prostheses do not attract the attention of others. They are made of a translucent material, close in color to the natural shade of the gums. To fix this type of prosthesis, denta-alveolar clasps are used that will not be noticeable to others.
Nylon prostheses have good physical properties. With a high rate of strength, they are quite elastic. The combination of these properties allows us to say with confidence that nylon prostheses will not break under any circumstances. Moreover, this particular type of dentures is ideal for patients with traumatic occupations, for example, athletes.
Dentures have a very precise fit. This was made possible thanks to the features of the method of their manufacture — hot injection. Stable fixation and proper tight fit — this is what patients who have already encountered prostheses made from other materials will certainly appreciate it. Absolute comfort and no gum irritation or injury — this is only possible with nylon dentures.
Nylon dentures are absolutely safe for health and have no side effects. Unlike plastic counterparts, nylon prostheses are hypoallergenic and will not cause health problems. This is especially true for patients suffering from allergic reactions to active substances.
Nylon is hygroscopic. Due to this property, microorganisms do not live in it. Nylon prostheses are easy to care for and are highly resistant to plaque formation.
Unlike most other methods, the preparation of nylon prostheses does not require preliminary preparation of adjacent teeth. As a result, there are no metal-ceramic constructions.
Nylon is characterized by color fastness. A stable colorant gives the prosthesis a natural color and aesthetic appearance. These indicators remain at their best even with prolonged use of a removable denture.
A distinctive feature of nylon prostheses is that they are able to maintain their characteristics for a long time and under various conditions. Nylon is resistant to high humidity, chemicals and constant voltage.
That is why it is widely used in various fields of medicine. So, from nylon make artificial heart valves and joints, as well as much more. It is used in the treatment of bruxism, diseases of the jaw joints, in the production of teeth whitening and sports mouthguards.
In dentistry, nylon can be used both to eliminate partial defects (1-2 teeth), and to make full dentures on the jaw.

Indications for use

Thanks to this type of prosthesis, hundreds of people have already forgotten about the problems associated with teeth. They appreciated the high flexibility properties of nylon, its resistance to possible fractures and the possibility of self-balancing in the oral cavity.

When are nylon dentures recommended?

With:
  • small, medium, large defects according to Betelmann;
  • Kennedy Grades I-IV; v
  • toothless jaw of type I according to Schroeder (in the presence of conditions in the oral cavity);
  • Keller type I toothless jaw (under conditions in the oral cavity);
  • retarded teeth;
  • tendency to allergies.
It should be remembered that, like any other medical intervention, the installation of nylon prostheses has its contraindications. So, patients who have low clinical crowns or severe atrophy of the alveolar processes in combination with significant unlimited defects in the rows of teeth need to abandon the use of this type of prostheses.
Examples of work on nylon prosthetics and other types of dental services performed by the specialists of our clinic are given below. More information about the results of treatment of patients can be found in the «Works» section.

Frequently Asked Questions

As a rule, every trip to the dentist for an average person is a certain stress. This is especially noticeable when it comes to such an important process as dental prosthetics. In order to avoid misunderstanding and to save time, we offer you a list of frequently asked questions on a given topic and detailed answers to them.
Question: Under what conditions is nylon prosthetics prescribed and what is a contraindication to installing a denture made of nylon?
Answer: The dentist can prescribe nylon prostheses in several cases if the patient:
  • not low crowns of supporting teeth;
  • shallow bite;
  • tooth equator is expressed;
  • mucous in normal condition.
    Contraindications include an overhanging alveolar ridge or its pronounced atrophy, resulting from prolonged defects in the dentition.
    Attention! Complete lower prostheses are not made of nylon!
    Question: What material is used in the process of imprinting with nylon prosthetics?
    Answer: Impressions are necessarily taken during the manufacturing process of nylon prostheses. To do this, use special alginate masses for casts. Impression masses from other materials, such as silicone, are not recommended, since they can deform the mucosa. This will subsequently lead to insufficient functionality of the manufactured nylon prosthesis.
    Question: For what reason are bite (occlusal) rollers made only in laboratory conditions?
    Answer: Since bite rollers are made only for the working model (duplicated), some errors may occur when placing prostheses. To avoid this, the rollers must be manufactured in the laboratory.
    Question: Is there a possibility of relocation?
    Answer: The connection of the material with another is possible, but this can only be done mechanically.
    Question: Is it possible to add extracted teeth?
    Answer: Yes, it is possible. If the patient has one or several teeth removed, his (them) can be added to the prosthesis using nylon.
    Question: Is it possible to make a prosthesis without trying on?
    Answer: It is possible to determine occlusion using wax rolls and on a duplicate model.
    Question: How and with what means is the prosthesis corrected?
    Answer: As a rule, the prosthesis is manufactured with high accuracy. However, if necessary, correction is quite possible. It is carried out using special cutters for soft plastic.
    Question: Is the position of the inserted tooth in the oral cavity stable?
    Answer: The prosthesis is firmly held on the supporting teeth and the gum adjacent to them. A stable position of the prosthesis in the oral cavity is ensured by special gingival pads.
    Question: Is it possible to make nylon dentures in ordinary (non-laboratory) conditions?
    Answer: No. In order to make high-quality and reliable prostheses from nylon, it is necessary to strictly adhere to the technology, as well as to have branded professional equipment. In the manufacture of nylon prostheses, an innovative technology of hot injection is used, the process itself lasts about 16 working hours of a specialist — a dental technician.
    Question: Why is dental prosthetics impossible without the availability of special equipment?
    Answer: Nylon prostheses are made by injection molding under pressure of 12 atmospheres. Without special equipment this process is impossible.
    Question: What does the material used for the manufacture of nylon prostheses look like?
    Answer: Working material is a granular substance packaged in capsules of a certain size.
    Question: How are plastic teeth held in the material?
    Answer: This is possible due to diatoric holes (mechanical connection).
    Question: What can you recommend to the patient who has installed the denture?
    Answer: To avoid mechanical damage to the oral cavity, before installing the denture, it is recommended to place it in warm water for several minutes (especially if the surface of the artificial tooth was dry before).

Nylon dentures, prices in Kiev
Currently, due to the significant increase in the popularity of the prosthetics procedure, every year new technologies and methods for implementing this procedure are developed that allow it to be carried out as quickly and comfortably as possible. Today, prosthetics methods can be combined into a rather large list, however, some of them are more popular than others. This is often justified by how comfortable the procedure is, how painful it is, and what the outcome provides in the end. Naturally, prosthetics techniques, which are distinguished by a high degree of convenience in the operation of the prosthesis, as well as long-term, are in greater demand. In most cases, both indicators depend on the quality of the prosthesis and the material from which it was made, therefore, it is worth taking full responsibility to choose the best option for a particular case.

Nylon dentures: what is it?

Nylon dentures are quite popular among many Ukrainian patients. Nylon is a synthetic hypoallergenic substance, which is a type of polymer that is used in many modern industries, including dental.
Nylon dentures are distinguished by their elasticity and softness, but at the same time they are quite comfortable in the process of wearing and have a very high strength. They are made from a specially developed type of substance — dental nylon, which was created by specialists specifically as a material for prostheses. Today, such prostheses are used both as temporary and permanent prosthetic devices. Nylon prostheses are attached to the jaw using special clasps — clasps, which provide them with stability and reliable fixation. They have an attractive, close to natural, appearance, and provide a high aesthetic effect, in particular, due to the exact selection of colors that will best match the color of the gums and the shade of the patient’s natural teeth.

Benefits of Nylon Dentures

This type of dentures has a number of undeniable advantages that distinguish it from other removable structures. First of all, the advantage is the low prices for nylon dentures in Kiev and other cities of Ukraine, which for many modern patients is one of the driving factors when choosing.
In addition to cost, nylon removable dentures also have the following undeniable advantages:
· During the manufacture of the prosthesis, monomer and other toxic fluids that cause irritation of the oral mucosa and allergies are not used.
· Elements of the prosthesis structure responsible for fixation are always performed in a natural pink hue, which is absolutely identical to the natural color of the gums, making the prosthesis almost invisible during operation.
· Clasps (mounts) are able to provide the most reliable fixation of the prosthesis in the oral cavity.
· The prostheses are flexible, comfortable and lightweight, and due to their high elasticity they fit snugly to the tissues of the jaw and contribute to quick getting used to the sock.
· The service life of such prostheses reaches 10 years with careful care. In this case, the color and structure of the prosthesis are absolutely not distorted.
· This type of prosthesis is absolutely safe and has no contraindications, which means it is suitable for every patient.
The European Dental Center uses only dentures made of nylon for removable prosthetics — this is a modern biocompatible, hypoallergenic material that allows you to create the most lightweight design, so that it does not injure the soft tissues of the oral cavity and creates a minimum load on the jaw. We are ready to guarantee an extremely high result, as we are one of the leaders in the field of implantation and prosthetics in Ukraine.
